TULSA - Danger! Still mashin’ with the Dogg Pound. With the creation of the Dogg Pound Next Generation, 2007 promises to be an even better year for Dangerous Rob with the upcoming release of "Itz a DANGEROU$ World."
Robert C. Daniels, also known as Dangerous Rob or D Rob, manages his own label, FREEDAM Records.
Snoop and The Dogg Pound’s upcoming Dogg Pound Next Generation endorse Dangerous Rob! He has songs on the radio, plus a "Dangerous Rob mix tape" on compact disc with EXCLUSIVE TRACKS featuring Daz Dillinger and Makivelli, Snoop Dogg, and many fire tracks you do not want to miss.
When asked about the opportunity of working with the Dogg Pound, Dangerous Rob stated, “This is years of hard work and perseverance paying off.” Dangerous Rob, who is also known as D-Rob or D Rowdy, has been in the rap game for 20 years. D-Rob went on to say that there is an entire history behind his movement.
Dangerous Rob recorded his first rap record at the age of 15 with a group named THOB-MOB. He put educational goals aside and released his second record with the combined forces of Partners-N-Rhyme. The record was distributed nationwide and featured the hit single "Cold Chillin’ in the Middle.” The popularity of “Cold Chillin’ in the Middle” allowed D-Rob to perform with many big named artists. Dangerous Rob released the album “Bakkk From the Middle” and featured the song "It's a T-Town Thing." This song best represents the positive direction that his 'Middleism' style is taking him.
'Middleism' is a style that adds a lighter touch to gangsta rap yet still captures the brutal honesty of gangsta rap. Dangerous Rob’s next album release was “At Tha Bank” and it gained nationwide attention when Murder Dog Magazine rated it the 8th Best Independent Rap CD in the country.
He's performed with Chubb Rock, Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Dre, E.P.M.D., Flesh-n-Bone, Ice T, LL Cool J, Melle Mell, N.W.A., Ready for the World, Tone' Toni Tony, and Too $hort. Last March in 2006, Dangerous Rob was spotted backstage at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas with Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, and Ice Cube.
D-Rob also wants us to know that the mixtape, radio play, and the "Cause I'm Black" video are only the first salvo in a series of future projects. When asked to explain, Dangerous Rob said, "We [FREEDAM Records] intend to release another video for the song "What I'm About." Plus, a short film project with other well-known Oklahoma rappers like Nitro and Young Hustlaz, and another Dangerous Rob album in 2007."
