Personal History: Trevor Lane was born on October 29, 1972 in North Platte, Nebraska to Tom C. Lane, Sr. and Nanette M. Lane, Ed.D. Trevor had one baby brother, Tom “TC” Lane, Jr. (November 15, 1981 – December 26, 2003), who was killed during the Christmas holidays by a man who had a history of drinking and driving. An outpouring of support from friends, family, and public officials lead to the creation of the TC Lane “Make a Difference” Foundation.
Trevor hails from a family of educators, professionals, and tradesmen, as wells as being related to talented and professional musicians (like John and Marie Hartford). Other family members owned radio stations, played in bands, or expressed creative aspirations through art.
As a child, Trevor was a three time National Guild pianist and an all-state drummer. He also participated in swimming, track, basketball and the Boy Scouts to attain the highest rank of Eagle. Academics and athletics were equally important as a teenager, as well as active involvement in the Methodist Church. Trevor became a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, held student government positions, and was a leader in his youth group at Asbury United Methodist Church.
Trevor C Lane spent his formative years on the border of Mexico in Laredo, Texas, until the age of 12. His family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma during the summer of 1985 and have lived in the State ever since that time. After graduating from Sapulpa High School, Trevor Lane entered the United States Navy, as a Seabee, where he completed his training and service before being discharged to the naval reserves before he was honorably discharged in June of 1999.
During Trevor’s post-secondary learning, he transfered to a few different reserve stations, while working on his undergraduate degree at two different community colleges, and traveled to several places around the world as a result of his service in the Seabees. These experiences and opportunities facilitated his learning which culminated in a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from a small prestigious private school in the midwest, Drake University. Upon graduating from the University, Trevor began working in his father’s law firm while attending law school part-time.
During law school, he made the decision to pursue opporunities in the music industry, and left the Tulsa area for New York and Detroit, while still working part-time for the family’s law firm. Trevor C Lane continues to live in the Tulsa area and is married to Lacey. They also have a son, Talon.
