Biography: Trevor Lane is a professional administrator in higher education, who has a passion for music production and promotions. He believes that quality is found by incorporating truly talented and professional people, building strong relationships, and leveraging technology to embrace internet and terra-based resources. Under the tutelage of Leo Okeke, engineer and producer for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Trevor grew his musical talents and farmed an engineering foundation that lead to bigger opportunities.
Trevor has always recognized there is a hot-bed of hidden talent in Middle America, and has made a conscious decision to remain centrally located.
In the past, while living in New York and Detroit, Trevor had the opportunity to work with engineers, promoters, and producers who have published records and music for Wu-Tang, Killer Priest, E 40, Insane Clown Posse, and others to name a few. His promotional experiences span the gamut from St Andrew’s Hall (or St. Andy’s) to Studio 54. He used his experiences to return to the Tulsa area and open a studio and start a music consortium,Outlaw Entertainment Group, to link entertainment professional and help others find affordable high-quality production. Trevor has also teamed up with the founders of Undacast to promote independent music and host an internet based radio talk show.
Trevor eventually opened a boutique label, Emanon Records, where he partnered and is co-owner with the intent to develop and sell bands to bigger independent or major labels. During his time with this boutique label, Trevor had a good measure of success coupled with the opportunity to travel to Austin, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles where he was able to work side by side with those who have promoted, produced, or published for independent and nationally renowned artists like Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Ray Charles, 3 Doors Down, Ludacris, Red Dirt Rangers, Will Porter, and more.
After leaving the boutique label, Trevor worked briefly in the oil field before entering higher education. He still continues to pursue a passion for music by using his experiences to host a high school talent show to recruit students and teach young and at-risk students how to independently pursue their artistic or creative talents while “living the dream” with the understanding it is crucial to obtain an education or learn a trade. Trevor is very engaged with the non-profit Vertical Life. Vertical Life promotes education and social reintegration opportunities to urban and at-risk youth. As a leader in charge of recruitment for a multi-campus Tier 1 community college, Trevor carries his passion for music into his career.
Trevor’s high school talent show, called Project YES (Youth Empowered for Success) – keyword “Project YES” on iTunes and other digital networks has helped at-risk youth pursue an education when they believed death, prison or gang life was an only option. Through this high school student talent show, participants have an 80% matriculation rate into post-secondary learning and the workforce. Trevor Lane also consults with independent artists, producers, and labels to continue perpetuating the exposure of hidden talents in Middle America. His extra-curricular activities include the following:
- Producing a premiere music and camping festival that is the only lakeside music festival in the State, Backwoods Bash - keyword “Backwoods Bash” on iTunes and other digital networks. The Backwoods Bash Music and Camping Festival, an independent music festival that enables Good Music, Good People, Good Times. The music from this event is listed in the All Music Guide. Producers ensure the musicians who donate their performances and music to benefit the Make a Difference Foundation receive a high level of professional promotions and marketing.
- Public Relations and promotions for Dangerous Rob, hometown heat and Dogg Pound endorsed, veteran rapper with fans in Japan, UK, and Germany. Dangerous Rob has been coined The General of the Dogg Pound Next Generation. Dangerous Rob, the General of the Dogg Pound Next Generation (CD release slated for 2011). The Dogg Pound Next Generation is endorsed by Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger. Rob is CEO of FREEDAM Records, as well as a veteran performer, and entrepreneur. Rob loves his community and is known to volunteer his time to help and work with urban and at-risk youth.
- Startup company, House of Infami, which is a merger between Winston House (electronica house DJ company) and The Outlaw Entertainment Group.
